Submersion

"If I pay close attention, I can feel something strange. Like when seeing vegetation growing through cracked pavement, or the smell of the air before a thunderstorm on a hot day. Or the lake shore -- the water lapping onto eroding blocks of concrete. The humming of distant highway traffic, the sound of trees in the wind, rolling clouds, or quiet train horns. It's an irrational and intangible feeling, and the cicada's call epitomizes it. That feeling is embedded into this music."
